Nanami is a Japanese-Venezuelan human rights advocate whose interest in this field stems from the violations of basic rights she witnessed while living in Venezuela. Her journey in supporting refugee communities began in 2023 during a course in digital oral narratives at Sophia University in Tokyo, which was an experience that cemented her commitment to amplifying the voices of those navigating displacement and legal and social precarity. She went on to intern at the Japanese Association for Refugees in Tokyo, working directly with refugees and asylum seekers on needs assessments, stakeholder coordination, and integration. She is a graduate of the Master's in Human Rights and Humanitarian Action at Sciences Po Paris, where she focused on migration studies and research methodology. As Treasurer of Save the Refugee Youth, she contributes to the financial administration driven by a belief that the transparent and accurate management of funds is crucial for the organization to thrive and reach as many people as possible.
